BOOK TALKS FOR EARTH MONTH

Please contact me at paula.onesimplething@gmail.com for a fun, engaging and unique book talk at your school, store, community center etc.

I bring Sammy the seagull (narrator of the book) as well as ideas and inspirations for kids to start their OWN "one simple thing". I've done 12 of these presentations already with great response from the groups. The kids love the poem, the bright and colorful illustrations, seeing scenes of San Francisco and finding Sammy in each of the pictures.

There is no charge for the presentation.

The book will be on sale for only $5 as a special for EARTH MONTH!

A Challenge to my Readers

You can't turn on the television or read a newspaper these days without finding yet another news story about the damage being done to our environment and the urgent need to change our habits, to reduce, to reuse and to recycle.

We all want to help, to make changes to our daily habits, but finding the balance between impacting our lifestyles with these changes and improving the well being of our world, can sometimes be so overwhelming that we fail to implement any changes and instead guiltily continue with our wasteful ways.

Just as Rome wasn't built in a day, our environment can't be saved by just one person and we all need to do our part, and while the subject of the book "One Simple Thing" is napkins, conserving napkins is just a symbol for something far more significant: the need to take heart and action in all of our daily habits. Though making big changes can be difficult and seem overwhelming, the key is to value the little things we all can do each day.

With that in mind, I want to issue a challenge to all of my readers, young and old alike. Come up with one simple thing that you can do to help save our planet and share it with everyone in the comments below.
